• updated 09/12/2012 3:15PM Santa Ana health system joins HealthCare Partners Orange County-based Arta Health Network and two of its affiliate companies have been acquired by HealthCare Partners, a managed care provider based in Torrance. The agreement includes Arta Health Network, Arta Western Medical Group, and Western Medical Management, Arta’s management services organization.
  
  HealthCare Partners is a network of physicians, healthcare providers and independent associations, which has groups operating throughout California, as well as in Florida, Nevada and New Mexico. Arta’s network of care spans Orange County and includes 800 primary care physicians servicing 76,000 patients.
  
  "Arta and its skilled physician network have become a recognized and valued provider system in the Orange County community," said Arta’s president, Dr. Baruch Fogel. "The substantial medical management and population health resources HealthCare Partners possesses support Arta's mission and values."
  
  The deal will expand the Los Angeles network’s reach in Orange County. HealthCare Partners’ active operations in the region already include Talbert Medical Group, which has offices in Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Tustin and Santa Ana, and an unnamed growing independent practice association (IPA) network. The HealthCare Partners said its current O.C. affiliates serve more than 61,000 patients.

"We are excited to join forces with Arta and its talented physician community to deliver patient-centered, coordinated care."
  
  Karri Rogers, CEO of Western Medical Management and head of Arta, will continue in her leadership role at the company after the merger is complete. "I am excited and look forward to working with HealthCare Partners in Orange County as we prepare for the Dual Demonstration Pilot project and the expansion of the Medicaid program," she said.
